Affinity designer make background transparent free
I’ve tried to search this on the forums with limited response. I want to afflnity how to remove a black or dark background from white or colored lettering to reveal transparency.
Generally this is for text logos etc. I’m some cases the text has graphics inside it that the selection tool struggles with. The Erase Brush could also be used but I don’t think it would provide a nice finish.
The best option would be to start a new document with a transparent background and then use the Text Tool to create your text. Go to the Layers panel, select the image layer and click on the backgrounc Ranges’ gearwheel at the top of the panel. I don’t think this is really a big deal – I can get the proper transparency with the current build, but it’s a little clunky. Coming from Illustrator and new to Designer, it took me a while to fine this solution.
I had to search the internet to find out how to export with transparent background as well. That option is really well hidden. From a usability standpoint, the “default background” in a document has traditionally always been considered “transparent”.
The Export Persona is great, but it should really recognize that when you are exporting a file format that can handle transparency, the option should be front and center. EDIT: Also, this thread isn’t the only one showing that many users are confused by this I just noticed that there’s a second way to do it without the persona, but even that one is a bit convoluted:. Just adding my 2 cents. I also had to Google how to do this. For a very basic feature, this is not good.

Posted January 15, Choosing the Whole Document option will export not just the graphic, but the entire canvas, along with all of its contents. Selecting this option will ensure that the only thing exported is the graphic you have selected. Other elements, including the color of the canvas, will be disregarded. The background of the exported PNG will be transparent, as indicated by the checkerboard pattern in the preview window:.
Once selected, simply click on the Export button. You will then be prompted to choose a location on your hard drive to export the PNG to.
Once saved, you can navigate to that location to find your PNG with its transparent background. Now that your Affinity Photo Persona matches your image type, you can select the right tools and settings for the task. The easiest way to turn a background transparent in Affinity Photo is with the selection brush tool. Lastly, before you move on to the next step, make sure your layer is unlocked. You could skip this step and just start outlining your image subjects using the selection brush tool, but this task will go a lot smoother if you choose the ideal brush size first and know how to alter sizes as you go.
To increase and decrease the brush size of your selection brush tool, press the left and right bracket keys on your keyboard. The left bracket key will decrease size and the right bracket key will increase size.
This will make it easier to get into smaller sections around your subject or can make the whole task go by quicker if a larger size will work. Now, you can finally start outlining the subjects of your image, which is the most crucial step of creating a transparent background excluding your subjects unless you want the entire image to be transparent, in which case, you can go ahead and outline everything with the selection brush tool and just press delete. You should see dotted line appear on the edge of your subject where you are drawing, and then another dotted line on the other side of your brush tool.
Just focus on outlining it entirely. If you delete it now, you might delete pieces of your subject s with it.
