Ask a new question. I often find that if files are being used by a program then they cannot sync until the program that is using the files is closed. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. Try looking for files that have the spinning circle icon which means they are trying to sync. Try removing them from OneDrive and see if your OneDrive can then sync. Thank you so much again. But both KBs say that they are for Windows versions and , while mine downloaded from Microsoft yesterday is So I think those updates do not apply for my version of Windows.

Am I interpreting that correctly? I tried to look through all of my OneDrive directories and I found only one file with the spinning circle icon. I deleted it. I have a few directories with the green check mark with the open white background. A right click on them shows “Available on this device” and “Always keep on this device.

I could not find any more than the one that I deleted. So now I still have the Processing 12 changes continuously, but I also have picked up another six files on a list, resulting from activities I have completed while continuing to struggle with OneDrive.

The system files in the list are from Paperport Professional The one. To me it looks like some of those files don’t belong in OneDrive. You shouldn’t install programs in your OneDrive if you did that. I see thumbnails and cached files that belong in Program files and appdata, etc. Sometimes you can get away with doing this but often these files remain open in a program.

Some programs use the Documents folder which may be synced to OneDrive. That may cause a problem. I just did another Unlink and then reconnect of OneDrive. Now all of my local OneDrive directories except one the one related to my discussion with you , and all of my files not in directories are all marked with the circling arrows icons signifying syncing. Right click shows them all as “Always keep on this device. Thank you. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.

OneDrive lists none of the files being processed. I closed OneDrive, restarted it. I uninstalled and reinstalled.

I reset. I rebooted repeatedly. I reset the entire PC, deleting all software and installing clean Windows 10 today and new install of OneDrive. OneDrive came back on with the same updating files processing 12 changes with no list of the files. I followed 20 steps listed in multiple sites online. I rebooted my router and the PC for about the th time. I also have a Surface Pro3 running the same version of Windows and OneDrive, and on that device, accessing the same OneDrive online, it has no problem.

Please, can anyone help? This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. I have the same question 8. Report abuse.

Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. In reply to CraigLong’s post on July 5, Best Regards, Craig Thank you very much for trying. I had already accomplished most of these steps in recent days, both before and after wiping my Windows 10 and completing a clean Microsoft download and Windows reset yesterday.

I stepped through each of the recommendations at the hyperlink above in order, including deleting some OneDrive files that I thought I did not need, including some files I thought might be too large. And this is with no other application open. There are no files open, other than MS Edge and background files. I show no files as, “Sync pending.

The computer is on with nothing active other than MS Edge and OneDrive grinding away in the background. I have paused and restarted, unlinked and linked, reset, uninstalled and downloaded and reinstalled OneDrive many times.

It always comes back to Processing 12 changes, but no files are listed in the empty screen. All of my drives are 1TB. C: has almost GB free. F:, where OneDrive resides has nearly GB free.

Does that matter? I will appreciate any other possible help. In reply to GaryEglinton’s post on July 5, My OneDrive says 32 bit also so I don’t think that’s a problem. You should always keep Windows 10 updated to the latest version. What is the “Computer” folder and why is it in OneDrive? In reply to CraigLong’s post on July 6, Yes, my Windows is up to date.

Since then, Windows Update has done 4 updates on Saturday and Sunday. Just now, Windows Update says it is up to date, last checked at this morning. Those odd files PP11Thumbs. PaperPort is a scanning and document management software. The “Computer” directory is a directory at the root level in my OneDrive where I place scanned or downloaded information that may be useful sometime in the future to help with fixing computer problems, including documents about this current OneDrive problem.

I noticed that when I did a clean reinstall of Paperport after resetting Windows, this time it installed its “My PaperPort Documents” directory into my OneDrive “Documents” directory, which is on my F: drive. That is a new behavior, and it is one level below the level of the “Computer” directory.

Every other time I have installed any version of PaperPort going back many versions and many years , the “My PaperPort Documents” directory was automatically placed into “My Documents,” usually on C: I work hard to keep all personal information off C:, so that in the unlikely circumstance that I may have to take my computer to a technician for repairs, I would remove hard drives with personal info, and the technician would have only my system files. So I place nothing into the PaperPort default directory.

PaperPort preferentially defaults to its own “My PaperPort Documents” directory and makes it difficult to search outside of that directory or to save to directories outside of that directory.

I save nothing to that directory. I will remove it from my OneDrive Documents directory. I reorient PaperPort to any directory on any drive of my choice by navigating to my chosen directory and using the “Open With” PaperPort function to open a. Then PaperPort defaults to that directory until I redirect it to another directory.

I do not think PaperPort is part of this problem, because I have used it for many years without difficulty, and both Windows and PaperPort were clean installs this weekend. Those PaperPort system files did upload to OneDrive online successfully. The problem is the 12 unknown changes that persist forever. Thank you again for trying to help. In reply to GaryEglinton’s post on July 6, I hope those spinning circles eventually go away.

Sadly, although I have reset OneDrive again many times, searched out all directories that had the open cloud and were empty directories, so I deleted them, turned off Windows Security and Malwarebytes Premium, and tried to make it all run with no security, I am left with the same result. OneDrive is again incessantly “Updating files” and “Processing 12 changes.
